About us

We reopened the Old Post Office in Lochbuie in late 2012 after a period of being closed for 4yrs. I am afraid that we don’t offer stamps or a place to pick up your pension but we do offer delicious homemade cakes, lunches and a place to get a good cup of tea or coffee.

We have a freezer full of our own Lochbuie beef, Lochbuie Mutton and Lochbuie Wild Venison – we also stock Island Pork from Sgriob Ruadh and delicious Antuim Pork from Dervaig.

We also have a few locally produced crafts such as amazing knitting by Catherine Macdonald, Midge Factory Tea Towels and soaps, John Archbold postcards and Nick Holmes’s brilliant photo cards and pictures of Lochbuie and the surrounding area.

The Lochbuie Larder offers delicious home-cooked food using Isle of Mull ingredients locally sources where possible.  It seems to be very popular and we’ve had some great feedback (pardon the pun).  All ready meals can be purchased from the Old Post Office

I know that when we go on holiday I really want to eat well and eat local but to be honest I don’t want to spend time cooking or being indoors whilst all the fun is taking place outside. So we have created affordable, delicious homemade meals that can be taken away back to your holiday house – a bit like eating out but actually eating in!
